IPL hair removal offers a permanent solution to reducing unwanted hair growth for both men and women. All areas of the face and body can be treated.

How does it work?


Using the Excelight system from Lynton Lasers, advanced IPL technology uses powerful light to target and heat up active hair follicles. The heat created by the machine destroys the cells responsible for hair growth without damaging the cells in the surrounding area making IPL safe and effective.

Who can have IPL?


IPL targets the melanin in the hair which is responsible for giving your hair its colour. The most effective results can be found in people with fair skin and darker hair.
Black, brown and dark blonde hair is treated most effectively. Red, white and grey hair does not contain enough pigment and unfortunately can not be treated with laser or IPL.

At Waxed Clinic, the Excelight System is able to treat skin types up to and including a skin type 5 on the Fitzpatrick scale, which is up to a light Asian skin. For darker skin types you will require laser treatment using different technology. How many treatments will I need?


It is necessary to complete a course of IPL treatments for it to be fully effective 6-12 treatments is recommended. Treatments are carried out every 4-5 weeks for the face and every 6-8 weeks for the body.
